Philanthropic Events This Fall

One of the best things about Nashvillians is the way we come together to support those in need and improve our community, and we are fortunate to know some amazing people who are really making a difference in our city. Read below about four incredible philanthropies and their upcoming events to learn how you can be a part of these incredible initiatives!

Lacey Newman, Estates Director and host of The American Dream: Selling Nashville, had the pleasure of interviewing Susanne Post who co-founded Shear Haven with the YWCA, an initiative to support domestic violence victims. Susanne is a survivor of domestic violence and is committed to educating the community on the signs of abuse and the resources to help victims. Her domestic violence awareness education program equips stylists with the knowledge and tools to recognize the signs of domestic violence, successfully navigate conversations with clients who may be in danger and pass along tools that can help them get to safety. Stay tuned to see the full episode of The American Dream: Selling Nashville including Susanne’s interview, coming in October!

You can support Susanne’s cause by attending Meet Us at the Bridge, hosted by the Nashville Coalition Against Domestic Violence, which recognizes individuals and groups in the community who use their time and talents to combat domestic violence and honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence in the last year. The event is held in October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and is typically held on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. on the west side of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
